BOOK REVIEW THEN NOW ALWAYS BY ISABELLE BROOM

Are you ready for an adventure?

Hannah Hodges certainly is. And so when she is offered the opportunity to spend a month filming in a magical Andalusian village on the south east coast of Spain, she grabs it.  Andalusia was where she spent a large part of her youth; made so many of her memories and her mistakes.

But this time it is going to be perfect. Because she is not only going with her best friend, Tom,but also with her gorgeous boss,Theo. And this unforgettable place is the perfect location to make Theo finally fall under her spell.

Except  HannahS past is everywhere she looks, Tom is acting increasingly distant, and bed half sister appears determined to ruin everything.  Again .

Hannah has just a month in paradise to secure the happy future she knows is waiting for her. Will Andalusia work its magic ? And will that future look exactly as she always thought it would?

Well anyone who had read my reviews will know I adored this lady’s first 2 books so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her new adventure . Firstly can i say how much admiration I have for Isabelle for producing so many books quickly but also each book is uniquely magical. She is a writing machine! !

Each book she writes promises to whisk you away to far off lands .

Her writing captivates you straight away and you can almost imagine being there on location.

This is a book about finding yourself and making dreams come true .

It is funny, sexy and perfect escapism.

Sometimes we think we know what we want and have all the anewers but do we??

This explores friendships, relationships and family.

The bonds we have with people that make us who we are but what happens if we begin to question those ?

I loved loved it and again shed a tear at the end.

If you are yet to read one of her books well I urge you to !!

Perfect summer reading and I can’t wait to keep adding to my collection.

BOOK REVIEW THE WOMAN WHO MET HER MATCH BY FIONA GIBSON

After yet another disaster,  Lorrie is calling time on online dating.  She might be single in her forties, but she’s got a good job, wonderful children and she’s happy.  This, Lorries decides, is going to have to be enough.

That is until she receives a very unexpected request from France.  Antoine Rousseau, who had once turned a lonely French exchange trip into a summer of Romance,  wants to see her -after thirty years.

But Lorrie is a responsible woman.  She can’t exactly run off to Nice with the man who broke her teenage heart. …can she?

Firstly thank you to Helena at Avon for my review copy.

Fiona is one of those authors you immediately remember how much you adore within a few pages.

Her writing is funny full of wit and relatable.  Even more so with this book as the leading lady is a single parent.

I was cracking up one minute then cheering her on for her girl power and great strength in any situation.

I loved this book and I reckon you will too if you want to sit back and escape.

Great characters and real life situations which you don’t quite know which direction there were going in .

BOOK REVIEW THE STATE OF GRACE BY RACHAEL LUCAS

Grace has aspergers and her own way of looking at the world.  She’s got a best friend and a horse who understand her, and that’s pretty much all she needs. But when Grace kisses Gabe and things start to go wrong at home, the world doesn’t make much sense to her any more.  Suddenly everything threatens to fall apart, and it’s up to Grace to fix it on her own .

I have followed this author on Twitter for some time now and couldn’t wait to read those book.

Especially once I knew it was about aspergers.

It’s so refreshing to not only read aboutique a female with aspergers but to be written by a female.  So often the focus in the autism /aspergers world is on the males and i should know.  Until may 2016 I thought it was just my son with a special needs diagnosis.

My daughter has had a tough few years and reading this fresh beautiful gem of a book enabled me the insight i never had.

I felt I connected with my daughters mind and condition throughout grace so a big thank you to the author.

I cried a lot after reading it really touched me .

A funny quirky read with great characters about a teenage girl trying to find out who she is in a confusing world

Firstly a huge thank you as ever to the wonderful sj at books and the city for my copy ….also signed! !

I have had the upmost pleasure to meet Juliet several times and she is lovely  . I adore her writing; she’s a wonderful storyteller.

I stayed up till 2 am reading this as the words just flow and you lose track of time .

This is a story about a house and in the house there are unique characters each with their own story to tell . But also secrets and history which make them who they are today.

Things are not as they always seem in life and that couldnt be more accurate when it comes to the characters here.

Confusions , misunderstandings and secrets all lead to murky water.

However with Sarah at the centre who has a good heart which has been broken she’s not who she once was . But she’s on a journey to find who she is again and what her place is in the world . It’s not easy and not always pleasant.  She’s also bringing the neighbours together even if she isn’t aware of it.  You find yourself rooting for her !

Mavis the elderly neighbour is a force to be reckoned with but what’s behind the facade of hostility? ? Is there a softer side waiting to be seen underneath and is Sarah the one to help .

A story about identity friendship love and believing in yourself .

Beautifully written and full of emotion .

Firstly a huge thank you to Helena at Avon for sending me a proof copy and having me on the blog tour.
As always the next book from this fantastic captivating  author is always highly anticipated.

And this doesn’t disappoint.

I think her books get better and better with her writing skills shining through with each chapter.

This drew me in instantly and don’t think I breathed much whilst reading.

This is so chilling and mainly for me because how accurately the characters and situation is written

A game of cat and mouse but we don’t know who the cat is !who do we trust?

I have found with all of her books that there’s a similarity to my life whether it be past or present.  Whilst slightly unnerving it’s amazing how on the market and sensitively written the subject will be.

This book instantly reels you in and feels you with paranoid and a chill down your spine.

You will not want to put this book down.

Excellent characters clever and original storyline that will shock you .

Also if you havent read any of her other books. ..why?? Go do it they are amazing !!

BOOK REVIEW/BLOG TOUR  ASHES TO ASHES BY PAUL FINCH

John  sagan is a forgettable man. You could pass him in the street without noticing he’s there. But then that’s why he’s so dangerous.

A torturer for hire , Sagan has terrorised -and mutilated -countless victims.  And now he’s on the move .DS Mark ‘Heck’ Heckenburg  must chase the trail, even when it leads him to his hometown of Bradburn -a place he never thought he’d set foot in again.

But Sagan isn’t the only problem.  Bradburn is being terrorised by a lone killer who burns his victims to death . And with the victims chosen seemingly at random ,no one knows who will be next . Least of all Heck….

Firstly thank you to Helena at Avon for my copy .

I’ve only read one other of Paul books strangers ,loved that so was interested to read more of his work . Despite this technically being a series with the lead being Heck , I found it easy to follow and enjoyable .

Very dark and gory in some places .

Full of action and fast paced which I love!

Heck is a complex character that’s for sure and just from reading one book I warmed to him.

The clock is ticking for both Heck and his team but also for the next victim .

An excellent crime writer that packs a punch with each chapter. You can tell he knows his stuff and leaves the reader on the edge of their seat wanting more .

BLOG TOUR ASHES TO ASHES BY PAUL FINCH

Firstly thank you to Avon for having me on the blog tour.

I cannot wait to get stuck in to this book.

For today’s slot on the tour I will be sharing a extract from the book.

Enjoy and do check out the other blogs

Barrie and Les saw customer care as an essential part of their role as Porno merchants.  Some might laugh at that notion , given pornographys normal place in the world.  It was  all very well people pretending it was near enough respectable now but the reality was that even if you use porn you tended not to talk about it.  You weren’t generally interested in building a rapport with the providers -you just wanted to acquire your goods and go (said good and then to residents in a secret compartment in your home where hopefully no one would effectively find them ). No one wouldn’t normally have thought this a business where the friendly touch would pay dividendsecurely,   but barrie and les who’d jointly and successfully managed Sadie a dungeon their street corner sex shop for twelve years didn’t see it that way at all.

Certainly barrie didnt and he was the thinker of the twosome.

In Barties opinion it was all about improving the customer’s experience so that  he would happily return . Happily that 2 as the key . Yes it was about providing quality material but at same time doing it with a smile and a quip or two and being helpful with it -if someone requested information or advice,  you actually tried to assist, you didn’t just stand there with that bored bovine expression so common among service industry staff throughout the UK.

This way the customer would more likely buy from sadies dungeon again -it wasn’t difficult to understand. And it worked.

Even in this day and age there was something apparently disquieting about the act of buying smut. Barrie and les had seen every kind of person in her, from scruffy drunken louts to well dressed businessmen and yet all had ventured through the front door in similar fashion :rigid aroundthe shoulders, licks of sweat gleaming on their browse, eyes darting left and right as though fearful they were about to encounter their father in law -and always apparently eager to engage in an ice breaking matter with the unexpectedly friendly guys behalf the counter, though this was usually while their merchandise was being bagged;it was almost as if they were so relived the experience was over that they suddenly felt free to gabble to let quote that pent up humiliation pour out more them.

It was probably also a relief to them that sadies dungeon was so neat and tidy.  The old cliché about sex shops being seedy backstreet establishments with grubby windows and broken neon signs, populated by the dirty raincoat brigade and trading solely in well thumbed mags and second hand videotapes covered in suspiciouslysticky fingerprints, was a thing of the past. . Sadies dungeon was a clean, model boutique.  OK it’s main window was blacked out and it still announced its presence at the end of buckeye Lane with garish luminous lettering, but behind the dangling ribbons in the doorway it was spacious clean and very well lit.  There was no tacky carpet here to make you feel physically sick , no thumping rock music or lurid light show to create an air of inotification.  Perhaps more to the point,  Barrie and les were local lads, born and raised here in Bradburn. It wasn’t a small borough as Lancashire towns went more a sprawling post industrial wasteland but even for those punters who didn’t know them, athey least their native accents ,along with their friendly demeanourevoked an air of familiarity.  Made it feel a littlemore welcoming ,all. the wholesome.

‘Fucking shit!’ Les snarled from his stool behind the toll ‘bastArd! ‘

” what’s up?”barrie said only half hearing.

‘Fucking takings are crap again ‘

“Yeah?’  Barrie was distracted by the adjustments he was making to one of the displays. When sadies dungeon had first opened, sales had initially been great ,but ever since then thanks mainly to the Internet, and despite the lads conscientious cus timer care routine business had steadily declined.

‘Dony get you undies in a twist ‘ Barrie said , determinedly relaxed’ about it ‘they’re not that far down.  We’re doing all right ‘

Though les didn’t share such airy optimism he tended to listen to Barrie who was undoubtedly the brains behind sadies dungeon, and in les’s eyes a very smart cookie.

‘Sonja we’re almost done! ‘ les shouted down the corridor behind the counter.

“Kay … getting dressed “,came a female voice.

Which was when the bell rang as the shops outer door was opened. The breeze set the ribbons fluttering as a bulky shape backed In, lugging something heavy behind him.

Les turned from the rack of dvds he was busy reorders.  ‘Sorry sir  we’re closing ‘

BOOK REVIEW INK BY ALICE BROADWAY

There are no secrets in saintstone….

Imagine a world where your every action ,your every deed, is marked on your skin for all to see.

And leora has something to hide.

INK is a story about love, loyalty and the desire to live for ever. It’s a tale that gets under your skin

Wow what a read!

I’ve been eyeing this one up for a while mainly because how beautiful and shiny the cover is…stunning. I then found out through other bloggers it’s storyline and knew I had to read.

I love reading ya books especially ones that create a dystopian world .

Within a few pages I was hooked and within a few chapters in could visualise this being either a movie or a TV series.

This book is excellent .

Will captivate you instantly and leave you wanting more. Which I believe there may well be….

This is a story about what happens when you question things? When you follow your instinct and what happens when you realise things may not be as you thought.

The leading character is a strong female and I can’t wait to see what her future holds .

A unique brilliant original storyline and incredibly exciting .

Cannot recommend enough .
