BOOK REVIEW MONSTER BY C J SKUSE

At sixteen Nash thought that the fight to become Head Girl of prestigious boarding school Bathory would be the biggest battle she’d face. Until her brother’s disappearance leads to Nash being trapped at the school over Christmas with Bathory’s assorted misfits.

As a blizzard rages outside, strange things are afoot in the school’s hallways, and legends of the mysterious Beast of Bathory – a big cat rumoured to room the moors outside the school – run wild.

Yet when the girls’ Matron goes missing it’s clear that something altogether darker is to blame – and that they’ll have to stick together if they hope to survive.

Firstly thanks to Cara for sending me a review copy .I haven’t read any of her books previosulit so wasn’t sure what to expect .I feel this can be described as a grown up darker version of enid blyton naughtiest school girl which I had been reading to my son .

There are some funny typical teenage moments in this book but covered with darkness and secrets .Theres rivalry  and whos going to win the role of top dog /head girl .

The book starts with the girls on opposite teams and not liking each other but in the end they have to work together to achieve one goal …to survive .

What they fear and visits them in their nightmares is nothing compared to what they should be fearing .

A fast paced thrilling ya read and I would like to read more from this author .
